The Trust for Social Achievement is pleased to invite you to a free webinar titled “Take a picture of me! – The potential of photography in early education.” The event will take place on 30 July 2025 at 13:30 Sofia time online via the Zoom platform. Translation into English will be provided.
Photographs are valuable tools in early childhood education to support children’s learning, development, and sense of belonging, as well as to enhance parental engagement. With photographs we can document learning, thus making it visible to parents, teachers and the children themselves. However, it is extremely important that photographs are used authentically and ethically, ensuring that they reflect meaningful learning experiences and respect the privacy and rights of children.
In this webinar, we will explore the different ways and purposes of using photography in preschool education, as well as various methods for sharing photographs. We will draw from the visually rich environment that is inherent in Reggio Emilia educational tradition, and will also take inspiration from a Bulgarian state kindergarten. Last but not least, we will discuss the normative and ethical considerations involved in using photographs for various purposes.
The event is aimed at:
- Educators and directors (of kindergartens, and not only! – photos are appropriate for any age)
- Experts, researchers and practitioners in the field of child development
- Representatives of institutions involved in education and children’s rights
Confirmed speakers include representatives of established organizations in the field of education, early childhood development, and children’s rights, including legal experts and practitioners from kindergartens.
